Yes, this is a loaded question. Every project is different. What you should expect is to receive a realistic schedule from day one. A schedule that includes your owner vendors as well as all aspects of construction to make sure not only the contractors items are covered, but those of the owner. The schedule should be discussed at every meeting and any items that could affect that schedule. This allows the owner to make educated decisions and be pro-active throughout the process.

Obviously this is a concern for anyone building for the first time. That’s why you should have comfort in the fact that you are hiring an experienced commercial general contractor that understands the process and wants to help you understand it.
